Case studies

Communities case study - Greening Kyle
Find out how Home Energy Scotland helped Greening Kyle, a project managed by the Kyle of Sutherland Development Trust and funded by the Scottish Government's Climate Challenge Fund. The project aims to cut the carbon output in the area by lowering residents' household energy consumption, reducing food waste and encouraging the growth and production of local food.

Communities case study - Communities for Conservation
Communities for Conservation is a project managed by Edinburgh & Lothians Regional Equality Council (ELREC), in partnership with Home Energy Scotland. The aim of the project is to help residents from a number of communities reduce their energy consumption, cut their carbon footprint and worry less about their bills. We've worked closely with ELREC on the project since it started in 2014.

Communities case study - Afro-Asian Community Energy Challenge
Find out how Home Energy Scotland helped the Afro-Asian Community Energy Challenge, a project of the Aberdeen Multicultural Centre and funded by the Scottish Government's Climate Challenge Fund. The project aims to help people in Aberdeen's Afro-Asian communities to reduce their carbon footprint and become more energy efficient.

Partnerships case study - MacMillan Cancer Support
MacMillan is a large organisation with a range of different advice services. We work in partnership with MacMillan so their benefit advice centres - a network of local partnerships positioned within Citizens Advice Bureaux and local authorities - can refer people to us for energy advice and support.

Partnerships case study - Age Scotland and Warmworks
Whenever Age Scotland identifies an older person who finds their home hard to heat or who is worrying about the cost of their energy bills, they are referred to Home Energy Scotland. The partnership has also resulted in people being referred to Warmworks, who run Warmer Homes Scotland; a nationwide scheme which installes energy efficiency measures in properties for people who need this support.
